Effective date: August 21, 2026
This Cookies Policy explains how SoundDBMeter.com uses cookies, localStorage and similar browser technologies.
SoundDBMeter.com is independently operated by Addito. Questions about this policy may be sent to contact@sounddbmeter.com.
Current Technology Summary
SoundDBMeter.com currently does not use:
- Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager;
- Google AdSense or another advertising network;
- advertising or behavioral-tracking cookies;
- affiliate-tracking technologies;
- retargeting or remarketing;
- social-media tracking pixels;
- session-recording or user-profiling tools.
The website uses browser localStorage for certain functional tool settings and results. WordPress, Hostinger or essential security functions may also use limited cookies where necessary to operate, administer or protect the website.
What Are Cookies and LocalStorage?
Cookies are small pieces of data that a website can store in your browser. They may support functions such as authentication, security, preferences, analytics or advertising.
LocalStorage is a separate browser-storage technology. It allows a website to retain information on your device after a page is closed. Unlike a traditional cookie, localStorage data is not automatically included with every request to the website’s server.
This policy covers both cookies and localStorage because both can retain information on a user’s device.
Cookies the Website May Use
WordPress Administrator Cookies
WordPress may use authentication and session cookies when an authorized administrator signs in to manage the website. These cookies are relevant to administrators and are not used to track general visitors for advertising.
Essential Security Technologies
Hostinger, WordPress or essential security features may use limited cookies or identifiers when necessary to:
- deliver the website;
- maintain an active administrative session;
- protect against abusive or malicious traffic;
- support basic website security;
- investigate technical problems.
These technologies are not used by SoundDBMeter.com for behavioral advertising, affiliate tracking or audience profiling.
Exact cookie names and durations may depend on WordPress, Hostinger and the active website configuration.
LocalStorage Used by the Tools
SoundDBMeter.com uses localStorage to support features that users choose to interact with. Locally stored information may include:
| Stored information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Calibration preferences | Remember a selected calibration offset |
| Recent measurement results | Display recent tool sessions on the same device |
| Online Hearing Test results | Preserve results in the user’s browser |
| Tool preferences | Remember relevant interface settings |
These values:
- remain in the browser and device where they were created;
- are not sent to Google Analytics;
- are not sent to an advertising or affiliate network;
- are not sent to an external audio API;
- are not used to identify users across unrelated websites;
- are not used to build behavioral profiles.
LocalStorage may remain until you clear it, reset the relevant tool or the website changes or removes the stored value.
Microphone Audio and Stored Results
Microphone-based tools process a live audio signal within the browser. Raw microphone audio is not stored in cookies or localStorage and is not sent to SoundDBMeter.com’s server or an external audio-processing API.
Some derived information—such as a calibration preference, recent estimated measurement or hearing-test result—may be saved in localStorage.
A locally saved result is not the same as an audio recording. It represents a setting or output generated by the tool and remains on the user’s device.
More information is available in our Privacy Policy and Testing Methodology.
Analytics, Advertising and Affiliate Cookies
SoundDBMeter.com currently does not use:
- Google Analytics cookies;
- DoubleClick or AdSense cookies;
- third-party advertising identifiers;
- affiliate attribution cookies;
- social-media advertising pixels;
- cross-site behavioral tracking.
The website’s Facebook page is provided through a normal external link. A Facebook widget or tracking pixel is not embedded on SoundDBMeter.com.
If analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking or another non-essential technology is introduced, this policy will be updated. Where applicable, appropriate consent controls will be implemented before non-essential technologies are activated.
Why There Is No Cookie-Consent Banner
SoundDBMeter.com currently does not use analytics, advertising, affiliate or behavioral-tracking technologies.
The browser storage currently used by the site supports tool functions and settings associated with features users choose to use. Because no non-essential tracking or advertising technology is active, the site does not currently display a cookie-consent banner.
The need for consent controls will be reviewed if the site introduces new storage purposes, third-party scripts, embedded services, analytics, advertising or tracking.
Managing or Deleting Site Data
You can remove information stored by SoundDBMeter.com through:
- a tool’s available reset or clear control;
- your browser’s privacy settings;
- your browser’s cookies, website data or site-storage controls.
To remove all saved information, locate SoundDBMeter.com in your browser’s site-data settings and delete its stored data.
Clearing cookies alone may not always remove localStorage. Look for settings labelled:
- Site Data;
- Website Data;
- Storage;
- Cookies and Site Data.
Removing stored site data may reset calibration preferences, recent measurements, Hearing Test results and other tool settings.
Blocking all cookies should not prevent access to the site’s public educational content, but it may affect administrative, security or other essential functionality.
Global Privacy Control
SoundDBMeter.com does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is therefore no current advertising sale or sharing activity for a Global Privacy Control signal to opt out of.
If those practices change, applicable GPC requirements and other privacy controls will be reviewed before the change is implemented.
External Websites
SoundDBMeter.com links to external resources and its official Facebook page. A normal external link does not place the destination website’s cookies on SoundDBMeter.com.
If you follow an external link, the destination website may use its own cookies or tracking technologies. Its privacy and cookie policies will apply to your activity there.
Changes to This Policy
This Cookies Policy may be updated if the website changes its tools, storage practices, hosting, analytics, advertising or third-party services.
The effective date will be updated when a material revision is published. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required.
